Call for Exhibition Proposals 2026

Visions Museum of Textile Art (VMOTA) is pleased to invite textile and fiber artists for solo or group exhibitions to submit proposals to exhibit in our galleries in 2026. VMOTA hosts three exhibition cycles for our main galleries and eight exhibition cycles for our Spotlight Gallery. We seek to exhibit a variety of artists working in various textile and fiber art mediums. This call for proposals is open to national and international artists at all career levels.

Visions Museum of Textile Art (VMOTA) celebrates and shares with the public the rich history, artistry, and cultural significance of quilting and textile arts. We provide a welcoming and inclusive space where individuals of all ages and backgrounds can explore, appreciate, and engage with the beauty and craftsmanship of textile art. Exhibition Schedule: Spotlight Gallery     

VMOTA's Spotlight Gallery is open to emerging artists within 250 miles of our museum and rotates every 6 weeks.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND ELIGIBILITY:

  • Entry is open to the general public. Museum membership is not required.
  • We welcome both national and international textile and fiber artists to apply.
  • Artists at all career levels are welcome.
  • Submissions must use textile and fiber art mediums in each art piece.
  • Artists may submit (1) proposal for exhibition for Proposal Season 2026.
  • There is no application fee.

COPYRIGHT:

  • The artist retains the copyright of the work at all times. Images of selected artworks will be retained by VMOTA for promotional and educational purposes. Acknowledgment of the artist will be made in all such uses.

PROPOSALS:

  • Proposals for this call must be submitted by December 15, 2024.
  • Submit the proposal as a single PDF including an exhibition statement of intent, artist statement, artist biography, C.V., and sample images of work to be exhibited. High resolution images should be between 4MG and 10MG. If the proposal document exceeds 24MB, a link to a sample images or the artist’s website should be included in the proposal.
  • Proposals are submitted via an online form at: proposalseason2026.artcall.org
  • The participating artists will be distributed between the available galleries by VMOTA's Curatorial Committee.
  • Submission does not imply or guarantee that a proposal will be accepted exhibition. 
  • Artists are responsible for the cost of shipping the artwork to and from Visions Museum of Textile Art if accepted into an exhibition. A prepaid self-addressed label(s) is required for each work when selected.

How to Register and Submit Your Work

In order to submit your work for Proposal Season 2026, you must register on this ArtCall site by clicking on the Register button in the header above (if you already have an ArtCall.org login, you can simply log in using the green Login button instead). If you have a narrow browser screen (mobile, etc.) you may have to click on the three horizontal lines in the upper RIGHT to see the buttons. Fill in the necessary information on the registration form and create a password.
